RV Caravan Tours in Canada

How guided RV trips work, what they cost and how to choose.

Guided RV trips take the planning out of a long Canadian route: an operator books the campsites, ferries and group activities, and a leader drives with you. This section explains how they work, what they really cost and how to choose one.

Whether you are thinking about the Rockies, the Maritimes and Newfoundland, the Gaspé or the Alaska Highway, start here. We cover the buying decisions (costs, contracts, ferries and park fees), the regions, and four operators with Canadian tours. All numbers we quote from ferry lines and Parks Canada are checked against their own pages.

Frequently asked questions

What is an RV caravan tour?

A guided group trip where you drive your own RV (or a rented one) with other RVers. A leader and a rear-guard driver travel with the group, and the operator books campsites and group activities.

How much does a guided RV tour cost?

Published tour fees vary widely by length and region, and fuel, most meals, insurance and repairs are usually extra. Use our calculator to see the full cost in Canadian dollars.

Can I use my own RV?

Most caravans are built for your own RV. Check the operator’s length and age limits, and campground and ferry limits for your rig.

Do I need a passport?

If the route crosses the Canada–US border, such as the Alaska Highway, yes. Check the official rules before you go.
