Privacy Policy

How RV Resources Canada collects, uses and protects your information.

🗓️ Last Updated: October 2026. Please review this policy periodically as we may update it.

1 Overview

RV Resources Canada ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website located at www.rvresources.ca (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and disclose it, and the choices you have.

RV Resources Canada is a free online directory of recreational vehicle resources in Canada — dealers, campgrounds, rentals, repair information and related services. We do not sell products directly, process payments, or create user accounts.

We take responsibility for the personal information under our control, and we aim to follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws, including Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector.

2 Information We Collect

Information you provide voluntarily: When you submit a listing through our "Submit a Site" form, you provide a business or site name, website address, category, description, location and an email address. The business details become part of our public directory. Your email address is used to respond to your submission and is not published.

Information collected automatically: When you visit the Site, our web host and its server logs may record:

  • IP address and approximate location (city or region level)
  • Browser type, version and operating system
  • Pages visited, time spent and referring URLs
  • Device type (desktop, tablet or mobile)
  • Date and time of your visit

We do not otherwise collect your name or contact information unless you give it to us, for example by emailing us or submitting the form.

3 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate and maintain the Site and its directory listings
  • Review and respond to listing submissions and messages
  • Understand how the Site is used so we can improve it
  • Detect and prevent fraud, spam and abuse

We do not send marketing emails, and we do not sell personal information.

4 Cookies & Tracking Technologies

The Site does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser. You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.

If we add analytics or advertising in the future, we will update this policy first and describe what is collected and how you can opt out.

5 Third-Party Services

The Site does not currently run advertising or analytics. If we add services such as these, they may process information about your visit under their own privacy policies and, in some cases, on servers outside Canada, including in the United States, where the information may be subject to that country’s laws. We will update this policy before adding them.

We do not control the data practices of other websites you reach through our links.

8 Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us run the Site (such as our web host and email provider), and when required or permitted by law, for example to comply with a legal request or to protect the rights and safety of users and the Site.

9 Data Security & Retention

We use reasonable safeguards, including HTTPS encryption in transit, to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep listing-submission details for as long as needed to review and maintain the listing and to resolve disputes, and then delete or anonymize them.

10 Children’s Privacy

The Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11 Your Rights & Choices

Under Canadian privacy law you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you, and ask for corrections.
  • Withdraw consent to certain uses, subject to legal or contractual limits.
  • Request deletion of personal information we hold, such as a submitted listing or your email address.
  • Make a complaint to us, and if you're not satisfied, to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or your provincial privacy regulator.

Because we collect very little personal information, most requests relate to listings submitted through the form. To make a request, contact us using the details below.

12 Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
